Collopy aced the 12th hole at Maplegate CC, en route to a 6 & 5 victory over Owen Heath, while French held off a pesky challenge from Tim Manwaring to post a 3 & 1 victory. Quite the opposite could be said about the matches in the Boys 15 & Under Division, as "Giant Killer" Patrick Welch stopped 2010 finalist Jake Shuman 2 up. In the feature match of the day, Matthew Naumec rallied to defeat defending champion John Beadle 2 up, setting up an intriguing final matching power vs. precision.... Team New England Routs Team USA at Mineck DBC Junior Cup.........Senior-laden Team New Engkand played brilliant golf in easily dispatching Team USA at the 6th annual John D. Mineck DBC Junior Cup. New Castle, New Hampshire's Nick McLaughlin earned the prestigious John D.Mineck Award (and scholarship), which is given to the junior golfer who best exemplifies John's generous, giving spirit.................Encore Performance........2011 graduates Chad Stumpo and Erik Carlson closed out their junior careers with a brilliant battle at the inaugural Marlboro Junior Open. Stumpo posted a 3-under par 68 to best the Johnson & Wales (Fla) bound Carlson by 2-strokes.......Pandelena Roars Home to Capture Gately Cup.........Nick Pandelena fired a final round of 6-under par 65 to capture the Boys 14-17 Division at the 7th annual Gately Cup at Connecticut National GC. Pandelena, who opened with a 75 closed with the second lowest single round of the Challenge Cup season. Earlier this season the Boston College commit fired a Challenge Cup record 64 at the World Series of Junior Golf. Not to be outdone Brendan Lemp (Men's Collegiate), Juliet Vongphoumy (Women's Collegiate), Megan Khang (Girls) and Jeffrey Arnold (Boys 13 & Under) won their respective divisions.
