Williamson, Renner, Parker, Welch Pass First Test..............Current Challenge Cup player Peter Williamson overcame brutal weather conditions to advance in the US Open Local Trials at TPC Boston. Williamson, who recently captured medalist honors at the New England Junior Ryder Cup, carded a 3-over par round of 75 to make the cut on the number. A trio of Challenge Cup alum were among seven qualifiers from the TPC Boston site. Former Player of the Year Jim Renner led all qualifiers with an outstanding 1-under par 71, while William & Mary standout Brandon Parker (73) and Hooters Tour star Michael Welch (74) also advanced to the Sectional Qualifier in early June. One week earlier, another Challenge Cup alum, Jason Parajeckas, earned medalist honors at Shelter Harbor GC.
